Tire Discounters Names Powerhouse Factories Its Digital Agency of Record

Relationship Follows Recent New Clients for Brand, Social Media and Web Development

CINCINNATI, OH, Dec. 21, 2012 — Tire Discounters, the largest independent tire retailer in the Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana region and tenth largest in the nation, has tapped Powerhouse Factories as its digital agency of record. The brand-building agency will help Tire Discounters better connect with their consumers through meaningful brand experiences across digital, social, mobile and customer relationship management platforms. Powerhouse’s sister agency, Empower MediaMarketing, will provide search engine marketing.

The addition of Tire Discounters caps off a strong Q4 for the agency, as it landed several new accounts. Natural foods manufacturer WhiteWave Foods selected Powerhouse to lead consumer segmentation development and product innovation work for its creamer brands. Pain reliever Stopain appointed Powerhouse agency for package design. Fitness headband maker Sweaty Bands also chose the agency for website development and counsel.

Powerhouse’s existing client work earned four awards in fall 2012. In its 16th annual international competition, the Web Marketing Association recognized the totes>>ISOTONER smarTouch Gloves Ultimate Misfit Gift Contest with a WebAward for outstanding website. The Cincinnati Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) recognized Powerhouse for developing three of the top public relations campaigns in the region. Winning campaigns included:

  • Blacksmith/ gold award for webcast/ webinar of the year for using Google+ to work with bloggers on new product innovation at Marzetti
  • Silver award for integrated marketing campaign of the year for totes>>ISOTONER’s smarTouch gloves campaign that combined blogger relations, media relations and entertainment marketing
  • Silver award for influencer relations campaign of the year for the HGTV HOME Flooring by Shaw blogger event and Facebook contest
